教員になれずに学習塾で漢字を教えている宙ぶらりんな卓。同棲相手のミコは早く結婚したいが卓に言い出せない。ある夏の日、ミコと喧嘩してアパートを飛び出した卓は、仲直りのプレゼントを買いに宝石店へ行く。その後、愛犬の散歩をしに来たミコを公園で待ち伏せするが…。
